Speed Racing Athletics is a non-profit organization in the Sacramento area, which offers multi-sporting events. It was founded in 2009 by Norm Hudson, Matt Speed and Zack Weinberger. They saw a need to help our local schools' youth athletic programs that are seriously underfunded and in danger of disappearing.
Proceeds that are raised through business sponsorship and event participants will be distributed to local Sacramento area schools. This funding will help sustain the various sport programs in need. Each school district will have an opportunity to submit their financial needs to the non-profit for consideration. The goal of Speed Racing Athletics is to provide support for all programs in need. Speed Racing Athletics hopes to provide support for community recreational leagues in addition to the school run athletic programs.
The founding members fully understand the importance sport has played in shaping their lives. With the ever changing lifestyles we see in America, sports provide a common ground that instills life qualities necessary to be successful and independent.
Speed Racing hopes to keep the positive impact of youth athletics intact for every child the wishes to participate.
The coaches provide such a substantial role in our society that leaving them with the burden to find financial resources is just not fair. We hope to take that pressure off the coaches and allow them to focus on providing great role models to the kids they coach.
